Planning your session…

Before each photo session, I ask that we discuss the details of your session. This is called the planning session, and here is some information regarding that appointment or phone call.

When I photograph a family, I have two main goals. The first is to capture everyone’s true personality, the looks and expression that only a few people have seen. I want to see the essence of who you are and capture it with my camera. So we may do things a little differently than you are used to. My second goal is for the images I create to be treasured, as works of art that are enjoyed by your children’s grandchildren. I may be bias, but it is my opinion that family photos are the most important luxury we can ever acquire. So please take a moment with me to discuss how we will create your families artwork so that it can be enjoyed for years to come.

Next, I will ask you what you should expect out of your session.  What is your occasion for this photo shoot? Is it to capture a milestone moment? (graduation, wedding, newborn, maternity, engagement, birthday etc) Is the focus going to be on one particular family member, or is your goal to get that one perfect family image to display in your family room?

Finally, my favorite part! I will ask you to tell me about your child/children’s personalities. This is your chance to brag! Don’t be afraid to tell me too much. Thank you for taking the time to prepare for our upcoming sessions. I can’t wait to meet you and your family and I know that together we will create something wonderful!
